Shannon Ridge is dedicated to crafting luscious, fruit-driven wines that express the distinct characteristics of wine grapes grown in Lake County, California . The grapes for this wine were grown in the High Valley AVA in a single mountain vineyard located at approximately 2,200 feet.
The grapes used to produce our 2011 Shannon Ridge Single Vineyard Barbera were picked from our High Valley Vineyards in Lake County. They were allowed to hang on the vines long enough for the acid to come into balance. We did a long cold soak on the skins to improve color and enhance the fresh fruit. The fruit was pressed at dryness and put through Malo-lactic fermentation. Aged in French and American oak to enhance the creamy vanilla mouthfeel.
