2009 “Single Vineyard” Barbera

Winemaking Notes

The grapes used to produce our 2009 Shannon Ridge Single Vineyard Barbera were picked from our High Valley Vineyards in Lake County. They were allowed to hang on the vines      long enough for the acid to come into balance. We did a long cold soak on the skins to improve color and enhance the fresh fruit. The fruit was pressed at dryness and put through  Malo-lactic fermentation. Aged in French and American oak to enhance the creamy vanilla mouth feel.

Tasting Notes

Color: Deep purple/Garnet   

Aroma: Black cherry, vanilla, dark chocolate          

Flavor: Blackberry, ripe cherries, spice        

Texture: Full body, rich, well balanced with a lush, velvety finish
