2012 High Elevation Zinfandel

 The grapes used to produce our Zinfandel were harvested from our Family's vineyards in Lake County, California. Sugar at harvest was 26 degrees brix, the grapes were fermented at 85 degrees Fahrenheit to extract color and tannins from the skins. It went through 100% malolactic fermentation in a combination of French, Hungarian and American oak.

Tasting Notes

The Shannon Ridge 2012 High Elevation Zinfandel is a rich purple- garnet color. It has aromas of black fruit, pie spice, clove and anise, with a hint of soft oak. The flavors include ripe blackberries & red fruit, clove & pie spices, vanilla & black pepper. It’s a smooth wine with good structure, rich tannins and a long and lingering finish.
