2014 Reserve Barbera

For the third drought year in a row, 2014 was early, mostly due to lack of water. Once ripening began, the hot, dry summer threatened to turn our precious grapes into raisins and it was a race to get them off the vines and into fermenters. It was a smaller crop than average, but intense concentration.

Tasting Notes

The color is dark and as intense as the wine. Fresh cran-berries and plum co-mingle with tobacco and all spice on the nose. The palate is of dried herbs, sour cherries, and savory oak notes. The intensity and lingering finish of this wine is a direct result of the intense sunlight where this Barbera is grown.
