2014 Vigilance Chardonnay

At elevations ranging from 1,400 to 3,000 feet and located at the base of Mount Konocti, once an active volcano, the Red Hills AVA features rolling hills, red volcanic soils, and a lake effect breeze from Clear Lake, one of North America’s oldest natural lakes.

Tasting Notes

Melon and pear aromatics dominate this Chardonnay, with light tropical aromas and creamy, toasty notes to balance. The wine was aged Sur lees for 3 months post fermentation on 25% new French oak. The rich flavors of green apple, soft pear, and vanilla give length, depth, and complexity to this mountain grown Chardonnay.
